Geoscientists and Scholars
Isamgeo is a consulting firm that provides expert advice, data analysis, survey interpretation, and numerical modeling in geomechanics, geophysics, and reservoir engineering.
Our team members have a proven track record in solving subsurface-related problems and extensive experience in oil and gas engineering.
We perform monitoring and forecasting of geodynamic processes (subsidence, induced seismicity) associated with underground operations.
We aim to maximize production, optimize costs, and minimize environmental impacts.

HISTORY
25 Years in the Making...
Isamgeo was founded in 1995, in Weisbaden, Germany, as a rock mechanics and software development firm serving the oil & gas industry. In the following years, it supported numerous projects, mainly in the North Sea, Mediterranean basin and Europe mainland.
In 2010, the Italian office was opened, and the company’s headquarters was subsequently transferred to the Milan area. In the 2010s, the company expanded its portfolio of activities to include geophysical surveying and seismological monitoring.
Isamgeo has since completed numerous seismic and non-seismic geophysical surveys, and has set up some of the largest seismic and geodynamic monitoring networks in Europe, some of which are still being actively monitored by Isamgeo engineers and geoscientists.
In 2022, the Istanbul office was established, with the aim of serving the newly emerging Turkish oil & gas sector, as well as those of the CIS and Middle East regions, which all have strong cultural and logistical ties with Türkiye.

Isamgeo provides expert advice, data analysis and interpretation, and numerical modelling services in the fields of geomechanics and geophysics for the oil & gas, mining, and geothermal industries.
While the geophysical, geomechanical, and monitoring services are successfully provided for deep to ultra-deep targets in the oil & gas and geothermal industries, tailor-made engineering services are provided for the mining industry, for the purposes of carrying out monitoring activities, geophysical surveys, mine expansions, and so on.
Our clients range from integrated supermajors, like Total Energies and Eni, to downstream operators, like SNAM, and from regional geothermal leaders, like Energeo and AGEPP, to underground reservoir project companies, like Karachaganak.

TOOLS
The Isamgeo FE Simulator
For most of the modelling services, the Isamgeo team uses the state-of-the-art, proprietary Isamgeo Finite Element Simulator software, developed by Isamgeo researchers.
The simulator has been used in numerous finite element geomechanical studies for the petroleum industry. Its code includes several important characteristics that make it particularly suitable for fulfilling the requirements of the oil & gas industry.
The FE simulator is seamlessly integrated into all the Isamgeo workflows, especially for reservoir management, monitoring, and wellbore stability.

Green Transition
GEOSCIENCES FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Carbon capture and sequestration (CCUS), hydrogen storage, and the exploitation of geothermal resources are just some of the technologies that are and will contribute to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions, and the transition to the use of more sustainable energy resources.
These technologies all have one point in common: the interaction with the subsurface pressure of fluids. This interaction alters the stress field, thus potentially affecting the geological formation and, in very specific situations, inducing/triggering seismicity.
Operators are asked to study the integrity of seals and to install and maintain seismic monitoring networks in order to ensure the safety of the operations and the integrity of the structures (both above and below ground).
Last but not least, the operators are also interested in monitoring the natural seismicity, and understanding its impact on the infrastructure (wells, pipelines, etc.). Several operators are evaluating innovative, cost-effective strategies for subsurface monitoring, with the aim of preventing the potential risks associated with the onset of seismicity.
